  • Name: Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (HRBT) Expansion, Hampton & Norfolk, Virginia (Design/Build)

    Owner: VDOT

    Description: The largest infrastructure project in the history of Virginia, this $3.9 Billion design-build project will ease this congestion with the addition of twin 2-lane bored tunnels just west of the existing eastbound tunnel and addition of Express Lanes along the 10-mile segment on I-64. The Express Lanes will be managed lanes with dynamic tolling and part-time running hard shoulder lane. Endesco provided lighting design services for all roadways, bridges, underpasses, and navigation channels as a sub consultant, including lighting warrant study, lighting photometric analysis using AGI-32 software, electrical design, and conduit system design. Endesco also provided design services for erosion & sediment control and highway drainage.

  • Name: I-66 Express Lanes Outside of Beltway, Fairfax and Prince William, Virginia (Design/Build)

    Description: This Public-Private Partnership (P3) project will modify nearly 23 miles of I-66 providing two express lanes alongside three regular lanes from I-495 to Route 29 in Gainesville in each direction, with dedicated express lane access points, and space in the median reserved for future transit. In addition, the project consists of 4,000 park-n-ride spaces, new and expanded bus service throughout the corridor, safety and operational improvements at key interchanges, auxiliary lanes between interchanges, and bicycle and pedestrian upgrades. Endesco is providing hydraulic design services including hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, scour analysis for bridges and retaining walls, drainage design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control plans for this project. Endesco is also providing traffic engineering services including traffic signal design and ADA facility design.

  • Name: The Maryland-National Capital Purple Line Project in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, MD (Design/Build)

    Description: In this Public-Private-Partnership (P3) Design-Build project to build a 16-mile light rail system connecting major urban centers in the north Washington D.C. metro area, Endesco designed BMP facilities such as bio-retentions, sand filters, micro-bio-retentions for stormwater quality and quantity management to fit in the extremely confined public right of way. Endesco also designed complicated multiple-phased erosion and sediment control strategies that integrate with the construction of light rail system and associated demolition and rebuilding of affected buildings, parking lots and trail. Endesco also performed design services for 100+ set of traffic signals, miles of roadway lighting, pavement marking & signage, WMATA station lighting, UMCP campus lighting, as well as roadway and site development for the project.

    Description: In this award-winning Design-Build project that built the state-of-art electronical tolling expressway, Endesco was responsible to develop SWM facilities (such as grass channels, underground storm filter, and bio-retentions), culvert designs, and phased erosion & sediment control plans to match the phased construction program. Endesco also designed plans for maintenance of stream flow, obtained the necessary MDE approvals, and provided RFI and as-built services during and after the construction.

  • Name: I-95 Express Lanes in Northern Virginia

    Owner: VDOT

    Description: This Public-Private Partnership (P3) project provides 33 miles of HOT Lanes from Stafford County to Fairfax County. Endesco performed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control design. Endesco utilized GIS technology to perform drainage area data for all storm drainage systems, MS-19 analysis, H&H analysis and stormwater management design. Endesco prepared all required drainage areas maps for this project. Endesco performed post design services for any drainage related tasks including Field design changes, shop drawing, and as-built plans and computations.

    Description: In this Design-Build Washington metro rail extension project, Endesco verified, established, and updated existing and proposed drainage areas for all drainage structures. Endesco performed inlet, storm sewer, HGL, minor culvert, underdrain, track drain analysis and design. Endesco provided all necessary VDOT and/or WMATA hydrologic and hydraulic analysis reporting information in a format suitable to the reviewing agencies and preparing drainage plans and details necessary for plan approval.

  • Name: VDOT Limited Services Term Contracts for Providing New Design Plans of Highway Structures and Bridges - Salem District, VA

    Description: In this on-call contract that involved multiple bridge replacement projects, Endesco performed scour and river mechanical analyses that provided the critical basis to determine the appropriate bridge supports, designed drainage system, and provided stormwater management and erosion sediment design to ensure the project meet all DEQ and VDOT environmental requirements.

    Description: In this award-winning project that added a new metro rail station at an economically underdeveloped urban neighborhood, Endesco prepared Traffic Control Plans (TCP) to enable construction of the new WMATA bridge extensions and Metropolitan Branch Trail Bridge over M Street and Florida Avenue. Endesco also performed streetlight design including photometric analysis, duct bank runs, conduit, pole, fixture and luminaires, in compliance with relevant DDOT, NEC, AASHTO and IESNA guidelines and requirements. Endesco also designed the traffic signs and pavement marking for the project, based on MUTCD and DDOT standards.
